John Williams Obituary

John Charles Williams

In the early morning hours of October 6, 2017 John Charles Williams took his last breath while being cradled in the arms of his caring and committed wife of forty years, Tina Panos Williams. John came into this world on December 17, 1943, at Mercy Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. He was blessed with wonderful parents, Eleanor (Ohlman) and James Williams, who preceeded him in death.

John had a very happy and loving childhood growing up on a farm with his seven siblings, brothers, Ed and Jacquelyn, Ron, Jim, Gary and Linda, Dan and Nancy and Allan and Beth Williams, and his very special sister, Jeannie and Jerry Ryan. John was educated at St. Charles Borromeo Elementary, was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Class of 1961 and the University of Toledo.

John found his calling in the banking industry for 25 years with ITT Financial. He was tremendously successful at his profession, turning down numerous promotions due to the fact he would have to relocate and leave his Mother. Thirty years ago in 1987,at the peak of John's success in the business world, he was struck down with a catastrophic stroke that left him totally aphasic. He no longer had the ability to talk, hear, write, read or walk. With his strong resolution and his loyal wife by his side John made a new life for himself. He learned to walk once again and reclaimed many daily activities most take for granted. John was a very religious person and throughout his entire life he never lost his catholic faith, even at his darkest hours.

John has joined his three affectionate sister-in-laws in heaven, Kristina Becker, Rosie Williams and Betty Williams.

Everyone who remembers John is asked to celebrate his life doing an unexpected act of kindness for some less fortunate soul.Being a very private person, John's wishes to be cremated have been performed. A private grave side burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery where John will be laid to rest next to his parents. In the spirit of John's generosity, please consider memorial contributions to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 930 Wyman Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616 or to the family.
