Jon Royster Obituary

Jon Edward Royster, 72, of Maumee, passed away September 12, 2021, at his home. Jon was born September 25,1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Elwood and Jenny (Sawaya) Royster. Jon graduated from Start High School and proudly served our country in the United States Navy and the Marine Corpwhere heworked asaphysician assistant and surgeon.
Jon retired from General Motors. He was aMasonicMason and was a local umpire; even umpiring forthe Toledo Mud Hens. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He loved spending time in the kitchen and was a true culinary genius. Jon will be remembered for his infectious smile, his story telling abilities and his charm.
Heis survivedby his sons, Jon R.Roysterand Bryant Royster; grandchildren, Samantha Hagaman and Devin Royster; great-grandchildren, Talon Hagaman and Teegan Hagaman; and brother, James Royster. He was preceded in death by his parents; and the mother of his children, Gail Royster.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, September 18,2021from 3-7 p.m. at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-893-7686) where funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in Jon's name to the Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences may be made to the family online atwww.walkerfuneralhomes.com.

Jon, old buddy, you left too early! I remember those Start high days and driving around in your 61 Chevy, Those were good days. Then 20 years later I had your 2 boys in class at Fort Miami School. That was a surprise. You gave your all to your family and they have much to remember and cherish about your life. Rest In Peace old friend.

Jon was a great man. I always loved talking with him at the American Legion, & @ GM. When he retired, the medical department lost a great resource. Everyone loved him. Thank you Jon for your friendship all these years. Rest in Peace my friend.
