Jonathan Bick Obituary

BICK Jonathan "Big Daddy" Jon "Big Daddy" Bick, 32, of Oregon passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006. Jon was born in Toledo, OH on June 11, 1974, to Gerald and Ellin Bick. He graduated from Clay High School in 1992 and went on to Ohio Northern University graduating in 1997. While at Ohio Northern he played football, in 1995 he received the ONU Greg "Boog" Shanabarger award, in 1996 he was Offensive Team Captain, All OAC Offensive Center Selection, and All Star Team Selection. In 2004, Jon was inducted into the ONU Hall of Fame. Jon started teaching in 1997 with Toledo Public Schools and currently taught at Meadows Choice Community School. He volunteered for the United Way Big Brothers Program, Cherry Street Mission, and Ada Food Pantry. Jon was a gigantic Chicago Bears fan. He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Ellin Bick; sister, Kim (Bill) Kamelesky; grandmother, Jeanne Rogers; nephew, Blake Kamelesky; many aunts and uncles and his dogs, Addison and Shaddy. Jon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Gordon Jeffery. Friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel Wynn at Pickle Rd. (419) 693-9304, on Monday, October 23, 2006, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay High School Football Team.

To Mr & Mrs Bick: My children loved Jon, as did everyone that came in contact with him. He was an awesome person that touched the live's of my children dearly. My son Gary, always had wonderful things to say about Mr. Jon after school. I truly believe that with Jon's help, Gary gained great strides in his social and development skills.
You raised a fine young man, and I hope I can do the same with mine. Thank you for everything you have done for the children of Meadows Choice. Mr. Jon will be deeply missed by my family but he will always be in our hearts. Ellin, we will always be there for you and your family.
