I just heard the news. Joe was such a character. He would walk into any room and bring a huge laugh in two seconds. Friendly with a big heart. We had a lot of fun at bowling green. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I'm sad.

I just heard and am devastated. Joe always had a smile on his face and was a great guy good for a laugh. I grew up with Joe in Sylvania, going to Highland Elementary and McCord JH, and played hockey with or against him from elementary up through college at BG. He will be missed.

Big Joe was a great friend. We lived together at college. He could tell you a story and they way he told it would make you laugh so hard tears would stream out. His infectious personality always made you smile. Always will be remembered.

Joe was one of my best friends. We went to college together, traveled around the country together and were roommates in Chicago. We spoke last Wednesday and text Thursday where Joe informed me of an acquaintance of ours who passed away earlier that day at a young age. His last text to me was one of sheer compassion where he stated "Sad Story" about the man who passed away that day. Joe was as genuine, caring and funny of a man you will ever meet. I will miss him dearly.

I did not Joe long but in the short time I did, I realized what a good and sincere person he was. I regret not meeting with Joe when he called me a month or so ago to discuss products. Joe will be sorely missed.

I hadn't seen Joe since we played travel youth hockey together for the Super Sabres, named after the 180th Tac. Fighter Gp. of the Air National Guard where his dad was an officer.
We spent many good times at the rink and his dad's rambling mansion in the Old West End near the Toledo Museum of Art.
He was one of the funniest guys I knew -- always had a quick, witty reply. Dow Boy used to say, "Let the big dog eat!"
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
