Joseph Paradysz Obituary

Joseph (Joe) Paradysz

Joseph (Joe) Paradysz age 78 of Toledo passed away peacefully in his home on December 27, 2019 surrounded by his good friends and health care providers that made sure he had the best of care.

Joe was born in Holyoke, MA on December 15, 1941 to John and Lillian (Bushy) Paradysz. His father John was a machinist and his mother was a homemaker. Joe moved to Toledo as a teenager.

Joe was a self taught man of many talents, there wasn't a machine made he couldn't operate. Because of his hard work and compassion he made a lot of dreams come true. Joe started his first business Paradise Pools and Supplies in 1974, in a small store front on Secor Road, before moving it to 5457 Secor Rd. With referrals from his existing customer, who became his friends, Joe became a household name for Gunite swimming pools. In 1977 to better serve his customers, Joe added Unlimited Concrete which gave him his own concrete batch plant behind Paradise Pools. Because of its growth he moved the company to N. Detroit and Stateline Rd. He opened another company Toledo Trucking in 1989 and now had a one stop shop for the building needs of his customers.

.Joe always wanted to develop and own his own golf course, in 1994 that dream came true with the opening of Sandwedge Golf Course in Ottawa Lake, MI. He became an avid golfer making the golf course a place where you had fun and wanted to be. Joe loved animals of all kinds, but his favorite was his dogs and cats. Collecting classic cars was a passion of Joe's, his first being a 1958 Corvette. He enjoyed traveling to the Big "E". This was held in Springfield, MA and was the place where all the New England States came together to show off what there states were known for. Joe also visited with his mother Lillian and Aunt Mae who resided there. Joe enjoyed traveling in the United States and also took a cruise with friends to Aruba that he really enjoyed. His smile was infectious, big and bright. It warmed his heart and brought him joy when other people smiled too.

Joe was preceded in death by his infant son, father John T. Paradysz, brother John T. Paradysz, and his mother Lillian.

He is survived by his brother Gary Paradysz of Florida, son Joseph Michael (Linda) Paradysz, and grandchildren Lydia and Josh Paradysz.

The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd Toledo, Ohio on Thursday January 2, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. followed by his entombment next to his mother at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Joey, Just got home from a cruise for the holidays and found out that your dad passed away. I am so sorry that I couldn't be there for his funeral. I visited him this year, and we both were so happy to see each other that we sobbed just remembering the good times. He will forever be in my heart. I loved him when I was 18 when I first started working with him, and I love him to this day. Joe and I have many memories, and he was more than just a friend. He was a great guy, and my heart is so heavy right now. Just know that he loved you more than anything in this world.

Although we did not get the opportunity to spend much time together. The time we did together was always a blast. You were such a great person and role model to all of my family. You were a selfless person with a giving heart. I will never forget the sound of your laugh. You gave me my first real putter from your golf course at no cost, even though I offered to pay for it. You even bought my brother and I our first car which gave us such amazing adventures and freedom in high school to enjoy life. Thank you for everything you have done for our family. I love you and know your scoring hole in one's in Heaven!

Uncle Joe, you are so loved and will always be missed. I know we didn't have many opportunities to spend time together, however I'll forever cherish the moments we did. You probably didn't know this, but I bragged about you often. I always admired your hard work, determination, and selfless heart. You were always so giving. I'll never forget the way you helped me reach Europe, how you bought my brothers the coolest first cars on the block. I look back on our talk when you were stuck in Deland and smile. I'll also forever be grateful for the enormous impact you made on the most important man in my life, he is who he is partially because of you. Your legacy lives on infinitely. You were so much more than an uncle. I know you're going to do great things up there in the heavens. We'll see you some day soon. I love you!

Though my time with my great uncle Joe was short with few encounters any time spent was always filled with laughter and joy. He knew how to cheer people up and show people how to take a step back and enjoy life. The number of things he has done to help my father and family in times of need are many. I wait for the day we meet in heaven to have more laughs together. You will be remembered and kept in our hearts.

Joe enjoyed helping people when ever he could. He bought my daughter her first car when he found out she has working. It just showed up in my driveway. This is just one example of the kindness he would do for people who didn't even ask for help. When he helped people it came from his heart. He was like a secret Santa to so many people. His kindness and smile is how I will always remember him. Rest In Peace Joe. Dianne Jarouche
