Joyce Beeler Obituary
Joyce McCleary Beeler, born July 16th, 1931 in Detroit, MI to parents Florance and Edwin McCleary, died December 22nd, 2018. Joyce graduated from Tri-State Business School and went on to work as the Assistant Controller for Conklin Trucking Co. She later used her business degree to become the director of RETS Institute of Technology. In her later years she became a valued employee of the J.L. Hudson Company, which later became the Macy's Department Stores, from which she retired at age 83, after 22 years of service.
Her various volunteer activities included being the past president of the Child Conservation League, a board member of St. Anthony's Villa, and a United Way volunteer. Her favorite pastimes, after time spent with her family, were her gardens, a good mystery book, and her beloved Detroit sports teams, which included the Pistons, Tigers, and her favorite, the Red Wings!
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Beeler, daughter, Kathleen (Mike) Baker, son, Jon (Bridgette) Beeler, brother Donald (Cyndi) McCleary, sister Kathy (Rick) Wall, grandchildren, Brendan (Kristen) Baker, Jordan Baker, Michael Beeler, Molly Beeler, and Olivia Beeler.
