Karen S. Sandrock, 66 years, of Oregon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2016. Karen was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 30, 1949, to Everett and Doshia (Evans) Strunk. Karen was a registered nurse working at various nursing homes, including Luther Home Mercy. Karen's greatest joy was spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Surviving are her loving children, Amy (Thomas) Wilson, Kimberly (Benjamin) Sommers; grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Anna and Benjamin; sisters-in-law, Carla Strunk, Marilyn Sandrock, Carolyn Lasseter; brother-in-law, Roland (Janice) Sandrock; stepmother, Oka Strunk. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and stepsiblings. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred, and her brother, David Strunk.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church Williston, 21140 W. Toledo St., Williston, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Karen's memory are asked to consider St. John's Lutheran Church Roof Fund.

My sympathy to Amy and Kim and Families Karen was a very sweet person who when I did see her I enjoyed talking to her.

We missed having Karen at our Flower Hospital School of Nursing reunions. Memories of student nursing days include her smiles and her voice. My condolences to the family, especially classmates Carolyn and Marilyn.
