Kathleen Ann DeCant

Kathleen Ann DeCant, age 65, of Toledo, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 5, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to David and Roseann (Bowen) Kachelek. She was a graduate of Whittier Elementary School and Start High School. Kathy was a devoted wife and homemaker. A devout Catholic and woman of great faith, she was a longtime member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and a former parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Toledo. She loved singing in church and was a loyal member of the adult choirs at both parishes. Singing with the choir on Sunday was always a highlight of her week. Kathy enjoyed following sports, especially Ohio State and the Detroit Lions. She loved her chihuahuas, including her current buddies, Tyson and Sista and their predecessors waiting in heaven, CoCo and LeLe. She enjoyed spending time with her family and family vacations, a favorite being their latest trip to the Smoky Mountains and Pigeon Forge, TN with her husband Bruce.

Kathy is survived by her brothers, Michael and Frank Kachelek; several brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins; and mother-in-law, Sharon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bruce DeCant, who passed away on August 25, 2023.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a rosary led by members of the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
