Kelly Walsh Obituary

Kelly Michael Walsh

1-18-1959 - 12-16-2025

Kelly Michael Walsh passed away peacefully on December 16 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer. If you weren't aware that Kelly was sick, that was by design. After his diagnosis, Kelly's mantra was, "I've had a great life. Don't cry for me, and don't tell anyone."

Kelly was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 18, 1959, to John and Rosemarie Walsh. The fourth of six children, Kelly developed coping skills early on including a sharp wit and keen sense of sarcasm. One of his favorite pastimes was roasting his siblings, who provided plenty of material.

For those who knew Kelly, his laugh and ability to tell a good story were second to none. If you were in Kelly's orbit, chances are you became a part of the story. Kelly was incredibly compassionate and loyal, and never one to mince words. If you were his friend, sibling or colleague, he was your rock.

In the early 1980s, Kelly moved from Toledo, Ohio, to Houston, Texas, where he became a real estate broker and later the owner of Neartown Realtors. Kelly never had to chase clients; his knowledge, work ethic, and love for the business spoke for themselves.

Kelly is survived by his faithful dog, Braz, his mother, Rosemarie Willis; sisters Karen Cole (Tom), Jackie Vasek (Mark), Sharon Marcus (Richard); and brother, Brian Walsh. Kelly also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, John "Jack" Walsh and brother, Kevin "Buzz" Walsh.

Kelly was an avid animal lover. Over the years, he often visited local shelters and brought home the oldest dogs, determined to give them the best possible life. If you wish to honor Kelly, please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter.

We love you, Kel. You will be deeply missed.

I met Kelly while working at UPS, in Toledo, both of us around 21. We were both young and crazy.
He was such a fun friend. We lost touch after he moved to Houston and me to L.A., but I´ve never forgotten our friendship. RIP, buddy!

My family lost a kind and gentle neighbor since 2004 who shared the love of dogs. We never met anyone else who took the time and care to rescue old dogs who needed a home, and Kelly was the ideal foster. We will miss our weekly chats from the park and sidewalks. Cheers to you for making the world a better place.
