Kenneth Grau Obituary

GRAU

Kenneth C.

The Soul of Kenneth Grau was carried by his angels from this life on earth to his new eternal home in heaven on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Ken was born in Holgate, Ohio on August 26, 1936, to Elmer and Edna (Hoffman) Grau. He graduated from Holgate High School in 1954. Always interested in electronics he opened his own television repair shop at age 16 which he later sold and worked for Jim's TV in Defiance, Ohio. He then moved to Monroe, Michigan where he worked for Durocher's TV and Appliance for 35 years retiring in 2003. In addition to electronics he was a master woodworker designing and building beautiful furniture, and he remodeled everyone of his own homes.

Ken married Norma (Lea) Streicher on January 24, 1959 to whom three children were born. Ken's philosophy in life was to love his neighbor as himself and his care for his family, his work and others bore this out.

Ken is survived by his wife, Lea; son, Scott and Becky his much-loved daughter-in-law and their children Emily, Alexander, Aaron and Annie; daughter, Cheryl Morgan and her children Anna Gallan and her little daughter, Paeton Ball, Kathryn (C.J.) Luttinen, Christopher, Jaclyn and Erin Morgan and daughter, Susan (Arthur) Jaworski. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn grandchild.

Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue on Monday, February 11, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4560 Glendale Avenue, Toledo. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The body will be buried at Toledo Memorial Gardens, Sylvania. In lieu of flowers the family would suggest memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.

The family would like to extend personal thanks to Dr. Donald Vogel, for his concern and good care of Ken for many years and to the staffs at The Toledo Hospital and Ebeid Hospice for their good care of him.
