Kenneth Kujawa Obituary

KUJAWA

Kenneth Thomas

Kenneth Thomas Kujawa, age 68, of Sylvania, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2015, while visiting his family in Minneapolis, MN. Ken was born and lived most of his life in Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gertrude (Czyzewski). Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Jean; daughters, Christine (Eric) Jones, Jennifer (Nick) Rhoads; son, Bryan (Allison) Kujawa; grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Sienna, and Haley, and brother, Eugene (Jodi) Kujawa.

Ken's career included legal, business, governmental, and military affairs. He was a Whitmer High School graduate, and he graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a J.D. from the University of Toledo where he was on the law review. He also earned a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Georgetown University. Work experience included being a private attorney, assistant county prosecutor in Ohio for felony offenses, military assignments to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army, General Counsel and Team Leader for a 3 year Presidential Study of Water and Water Resource Projects, and president and one-half owner of Advanced Specialty Products since 1983. He was a member of the Ohio, Michigan, D.C. and Florida Bar Associations. He was in the Army Reserve for 11 years obtaining the rank of Captain.

Ken fought valiantly to beat leukemia over 20 years ago. He completed a bone marrow transplant with a subsequent T-cell infusion at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He was a walking miracle who lived many more fulfilling years. Ken's goal was to see his children graduate high school, but he was proud to be able to witness them all achieve advanced degrees and get married.

Ken was a highly intelligent man whose love of learning was only surpassed by his love of family. Ken completed an around the world adventure after law school. He loved driving his 1970 Mach 1 that he purchased new that year. He loved his country and was a proud American. He loved taking his family to Virginia Beach, VA. He relished his role as Grandpa K. with his 4 beautiful grandchildren, playing trains, making music, teaching history, and making cardboard box creations.

Ken enjoyed spending time in Punta Gorda, FL and obtained a Florida real estate license to pursue a baby boomer second career. Ken and Jean were planning to retire in Punta Gorda to start the next chapter in their 40-year marriage.

Although this kind, gentle, intelligent, honest, patriotic and loving husband, father, grandfather passed away way too soon, we know he is at peace in God's care. Ken/ Dad/Grandpa K. - Your family loves you very much and the traits that you have instilled in all of us will live on forever.
