Kenneth Tomczak Obituary
Kenneth Sylvester Tomczak, 89 years, of Samaria, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. He was born January 22, 1936, in Toledo, OH, to Alvin and Leona (Robinson) Tomczak. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the Military Police, holding a high security clearance. He attended the University of Oklahoma and University of Toledo.
A dedicated founding member of the local Catholic War Veterans, he served as Commander from 2011 to 2021. He was also actively involved with the Lambertville VFW Post 9656 and proudly gave Military Honors to 977 burials, demonstrating his deep commitment to honoring those who served. Ken was a long-time member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Dolenar, Patricia Farley, Lori Hodges, Michelle Tomczak; stepson, Jim Wilhelm; granddaughter, Sasha Wilhelm; and great-grandson, Beniaih Wilhelm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel (Decker) Tomczak; and granddaughter, Hailie Jameson.
Visitation will be Monday, December 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., in the Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 8330 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.bedfordfuneralchapel.com .
