Leocadia BOMBRYS Obituary

BOMBRYS Leocadia Leocadia Bombrys died Friday, January 1, 2010, at the age of 93. Her family and friends knew her as "Laura". She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edwin. Leocadia attended St. Adalbert grade school and Woodward High School. After high school, she was employed by the DeVilbiss Company for approximately five years, retiring to raise her four children. In addition, she worked with her husband in the business they started, Bombrys Gifts. She especially enjoyed talking with all the customers she met, and many people knew her well. For almost all of her life, Leocadia was a member of St. Clement Church and also belonged to its Altar and Rosary Society. In addition, she had been a member of the Golden Ages, AARP and the Eleanor Kahle Senior Center. Leocadia loved to play bingo and did so whenever the opportunity arose. She didn't care if she won or lost, she just enjoyed playing the game and being with her many friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Filip Kowalec; her brothers, Victor and Chester; and sisters, Virginia and Helen. Surviving are her children, Maryann (William) Bailey, Carolynn (Kenneth) Loch, John (Kathleen) Bombrys, and Suzanne (John) Pietras. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren, Deborah Bailey, Barbara Mulhern, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Loch, Steven Loch, Lori (Dennis) Bettinger, Jane (Brian) Justice, Annette (Shawn) Clark, John R. (Teresa) Bombrys, Jennifer (Don) Wagner, Lisa Pietras and Sarah (Tony) Schue. Leocadia also leaves behind her thirteen great-grand-children, Bailey, Will and Tanner Mulhern; Julia and Jenna Justice; Alea Loch; Aubrey and Collin Clark; Danielle and Gabrielle Wagner; and Marisa, Rachel and Lauren Bombrys. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
