Lori L. Mackey

Lori L. Mackey passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Born to Robert and Karen Mackey on Sunday, June 27, 1965. Lori was a beautiful child inside and out, always finding the good in everyone. She grew into an amazing, talented woman, cooking, baking, especially cakes and Christmas cookies. Lori loved to sew, making doll clothes and Halloween costumes for her nieces.

In the summer of 1990, she married David Loy; they had three sons, Jacob, Scotty and Randy. After their amicable parting, Lori earned her Bachelor of Education at Lourdes College. Her dream, from age seven after starting tap dance lessons at Hanf Studio, was to have her own studio. That dream was achieved in the fall of 2007 when Miss Lori's Dance Express first opened in Lambertville, MI, and is now in her present location in Temperance, MI.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Scotty (girlfriend, Marisa); mother, Karen Mackey; sisters, Kelly (Eddie) Myers and Tracie (Matthew) Hoobler; nephew, Brandon Hoobler; and nieces, Havin Hoobler and Madelyn Myers. She was preceded in death by her sons, Jacob (14 years old) and Randy (14 hours old); and her father, Robert Mackey.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave., and again on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., where a memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
