Margaret Tyler Obituary

Margaret Tyler

June 18, 1934 - November 23, 2022

Margaret "Molly" Tyler enjoyed life for 88 years. She was born to Peter and Katie Muirhead in Albany, New York. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence Tyler; daughters, Laurel Tyler (Pete Mitchell), Monica Grogan (Tim Grogan), and Pam Butt (Tim Butt); grandchildren, Sarah, Emma, Ian, Sean, Erin, Kathryn, Tyler (Julia), Erik (Chelsea), and Emily (Aidan); great grandchildren, Eloise and Delaney; brother, David Muirhead; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raised in upstate New York, she earned a BS in Nursing (Cornell University '57) and a MS in Nursing (Case Western Reserve University '79.) She worked as a visiting nurse and taught nursing in Northern Ohio, finishing her career at the Medical College of Ohio in 1994.

Molly was active in church and community affairs and served on many boards in Toledo and Stuart, FL. She founded the Parish Nurse Program at St. Joseph Church in Sylvania, Ohio.

She loved playing tennis, traveling, singing in choirs, participating in book clubs, delivering Holy Communion, completing crosswords, playing Scrabble, cooking, and gardening. And boy, could she throw a party! The family shared many vacations, reunions, and adventures, creating beautiful and ridiculous memories together.
