Marian CHANEY Obituary

CHANEY Marian R. Marian R. Chaney, 87, formerly of Toledo, OH passed away November 8, 2011 in Charlotte, NC. She was born in Toledo, OH on March 31, 1924 to Charles and Maud (Phillips) Baymiller. In her younger years, she worked in the office at First St. John Lutheran Church where she was a long time member, and was the children's choir director for 17 years. She was a soloist in the church choir and loved to bowl. Marian also was employed as an administrative secretary at Ruth Ide Center. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn (David) Richards; sons, Reed (Debora) Chaney and Scott (Vanessa) Chaney; grandchildren, Eric (Christy) Richards, Shannon (Brian) McBroom, Jessica Chaney, James Chaney, Janelle Chaney; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Rapp; and sister-in-law, Nola Brown. Marian was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph H. Chaney; brothers, John and Charles Baymiller; sisters, Mildred Paepcke, Olive Alexander and Helen Barton. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. in Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral services will be conducted in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman St., Toledo, Ohio on Monday at 11:00 a.m., where the family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. my prayers are with you Reed, Marilyn and Scott. I was in the cherub choir when your Mom led us to sing our little hearts out. She was so patient and kind to everyone she came in contact with. I was priveleged to have her sing at my wedding in 1977-' 'I come to the garden alone'. Thank you all for sharing your Mom with all the members of First St. John's susie klawitter moszkowicz
