Marie Crist

Marie (Sabbatino) Crist, 83, of Bittersweet Ridge, Middlefield, wife of Robert E. Crist, died Sunday, (April 14, 2002) at CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Judge Sylvester F. and Catherine (O'Donnell) Sabbatino, and lived in Middlefield for 14 years. Mrs. Crist was a graduate of Trap Hagen Designer School in New York, NY, Class of 1939, and a member of St. Pius X Church, Middletown. Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Peter J. Crist of Queens, NY, Christopher R. Crist of Peekskill, NY, Anthony F. Crist of Mahopac, NY, John E. Crist of Middletown, Nicholas P. Crist of Konigstein, Germany; two daughters, Catherine N. Mathews of Simsbury, Maria T. Borowy of Hanover, NH; a brother, Sylvester F. Sabbatino, Jr. of Brookyn, NY; a sister, Jeanne C. Sabbatino of Scarsdale, NY; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown on Wed., April 17, at 9 a.m. and at 10 a.m., at St. Pius X Church, Middletown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
