Marie J. Simpson

Marie J. Simpson, 92, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bono, Ohio, on December 19, 2032, to Clarence and Bonnie (Amsler) Scharlow. Marie graduated from Clay High School, Class of 1950. Marie married Bub Richardson in 1950, who preceded her in death. She later married Jack Simpson, and together they built many life long memories until his passing. She loved hummingbirds, crocheting, and was an avid reader, but what Marie cherished most was her loving family.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Richardson; daughter, Debra (Greg) Clark; step-daughter, Teresa (Mike Mishka) Pedelose; grandchildren, Doug (Larissa) Richardson Jr., Melissa (Tom Potts), Ashley Root, Adam (Shannon) Richardson, Matthew (Israel Garcia) Richardson, Justin Hanus; step-grandchildren, Sarah Davis, Marissa (Travis) Whitmore, Nicholas Bonnette; great-grandchildren, Kennedy Richardson, Jeremiah Cook, Dylan Thaxton, Kyle Beck, Ashley Root, Allie Richardson, Gavin Richardson, Jayce Richardson, Olivia Richardson; step-great grandchildren, Evelyn and Maverick Whitmore; great-great-grandchildren, Orion Cook, Myah Cook, Odin Cook, Luca Thaxton; sister, Jean Witt; and brother, Wade (Jean Ann) Sharlow. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brothers, Kenneth, Carl and Robert Sharlow.

Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
