Marie Tuohy Obituary
Marie Tuohy, 95, died of Covid-19 on January 24, 2021 in Rochester, New York. She was born on March 5, 1925 to Charles and Elizabeth (Krieger) Holmes in Toledo, Ohio. Marie was employed for many years as an office manager for Paul Revere Insurance Company in Toledo and in Cincinnati, where she ended her career. She subsequently moved to Rochester to be near family.
A gifted vocalist, Marie took great pleasure singing in church choirs and community choruses, where she was frequently a soloist.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Tuohy. She is survived by son, Ronald (Beth) Tuohy; daughter, Janet (Mike Ball) Tuohy; by grandchildren, Jamie Higgins, Jared Higgins, Nathaniel (En-Chieh Chao) Tuohy, Conor (Alexis) Tuohy; and by four great grandchildren.
Local arrangements for a private burial, due to Covid, were handled by Foth - Dorfmeyer Mortuary

To the family of Marie Tuohy, I was so sorry to read your sad news. I was Nathaniel's first grade teacher at McKinley School. I remember riding in a hay wagon on a trip to the apple orchard with Nathaniel, his mother, and a very young Conner. Nathaniel's father was my mother's very caring nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital. Your grandmother and mother must have been a beautiful vocalist! Please accept my deepest sympathy.
