E. Marilyn Schmidt, age 82, of Maumee, Ohio, died on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on July 10, 1931, to John and Cecil
(Westfal) Canode in Maumee, Ohio. Marilyn was a lifetime member of the Maumee United Methodist Church. She loved to go bowling, work on craft projects and played Bunco for over 40 years. She was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steele novels. Marilyn was always baking or cooking up one of her specialties, and was widely known for her Christmas cookies.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence; daughters, Robin (Pete) Pressnell, and Vicki (John) Niefer; grandchildren, Tina, Sarah, Mari, Nathan, Mikal, Jenna, and Sam, and seven great-grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by her honorary daughters, Jean (Joseph) Papp, and Amy (Todd) Hendricks. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may gather at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St. Maumee, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
