Marjorie Cora Johnson, 98, of Toledo, died peacefully at home February 21, 2026.
She was born December 26, 1927, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to Cora Evans and Eugene Whitfield, and moved to Toledo at a young age.
She worked in hospitality for many years and, even after retirement, continued volunteering with the elderly well into her 80s. She was a faithful member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, George Johnson; her sons, Leslie Palmer and Eddie Palmer; and her sister, Mildred.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Darryin Jones, Erickka Jones, Leslie Griffin, An'twon Griffin, Eddie Palmer Jr., and Consuela Palmer; Tim Horning, who was like a son to her; her cousin and dear friend, Renaye Reid; Tobina Vines and Relana Reid; along with many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
Mrs. Johnson donated her body to the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. There will be no visitation or services in accordance with her wishes.
