Mark Taberner Obituary

TABERNER Mark Joseph Born September 16, 1960, in Toledo, Mark went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on January 24, 2009. Mark loved life and its adventures. He attended Blessed Sacrament and after graduating from Roy C. Start High School in 1978, he spent a few years in Santa Barbara, CA. From there he traveled to the Pacific Northwest. Living in Spokane, WA, he spent countless hours with his friends and family, camping and enjoying the scenic outdoors there. Mark spent six years as a foreman working on a commercial fishing boat in the Bering Sea and loved every exciting minute of it. He then moved back to Toledo, where he met and married Denise. Never one to sit idle, he was always helping others and his remaining years were spent enjoying family and friends at the Tabner pond. Mark was loved very much and will be sorely missed. He is preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Lynn Hill. Mark is survived his wife, Denise (Stieb) and her children, Andrea and Joshua; parents, Joseph Taberner of Toledo and Shirley Taberner of Spokane Valley, WA; sister, Lori (Jim) Cremeens of Corpus Christi, TX; brothers, Brian (Jana) of Sylvania, Jeff (Sherri) of Newman Lake, WA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; godparents, Frank and Lydia Gilhooley; and his beloved dog, Bear. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue Rd., Toledo, OH 43613. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home 419-841-2422. Aunt Deenie-Pooey, Uncle Joe, Lori, Brian and Jeff,
The sorrow of the faithful is not that of permanent loss, but of the tender sense of sadness that comes in saying good-bye, only for now, to someone we love. Psalm 16 reinforces this and I'm in hopes this scripture will give each of you comfort, knowing we will, one day, join Mark in the land of our wonderful inheritance.
I will sorely miss Mark - my little "Walter" and "turdling." He was so fair in comparison to his siblings, I remarked many times he could've been mistaken for my little brother! I'll never forget the qualities that were so endearing about him - his freckles; his grin that reached from ear to ear, usually followed by that special giggle of his that was so very infectious; his "Sufferin' Succotash" prase he could say while whistling!; his tender heartedness and compassion for others. Yes, I'm looking forward to the day when I can give Walter a great, big hug, walk the streets of glory and catch up on the happenings of his journey. Until then, he'll rest and remain in God's care - a pretty darn good place to be.
May today's sorrw give way to the peace and comfort of God's love and may you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of freinds.
With Loving Memories,
Susie & Terry Hammock
