Mary Altwies Obituary
Mary Louise
Mary Louise Altwies, age 73 of Hudson, MI, formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully, December 29, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 8, 1943, to Albert and Dorthea Melcher. A 1960 graduate of Whitmer High School, she then married Edward Altwies on February 3, 1961. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a lifelong friend to many. She loved to tend to her beautiful flower gardens at their Posey Lake home. Mary was an avid garage saler and loved to always find a great bargain. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family, whether it be family camping trips, time at Posey Lake or more elaborate family vacations.
Mary is survived by her loving husband and best friend, of 54 years, Edward; 3 wonderful children, Donna (Bob) Cline, Ed (Jackie) Altwies and Kristie (Scott Miller) Gorsuch; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kristen) Treen, Alexandria, Emily Altwies, and Jimmy and Taylor Gorsuch; 2 great-grandchildren, Adrian and Braylin Treen. She was preceded in death her parents.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
