Michael "Mike" Hoecherl

Michael "Mike" Hoecherl 64 of Katy, Texas and formerly of Maumee passed away on December 15, 2023, after a sudden and brief illness. Mike was born on August 11, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio to parents, Carl and Norma Jean Hoecherl.

Mike earned his business degree from the University of Toledo after graduating from St. John's Jesuit High School in 1977. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Texas to take a new position with Owens Corning in roofing sales.

Mike was a highly successful salesman in commercial roofing winning multiple sales awards throughout a career that spanned over 40 years with different companies across Texas.

Mike enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting and fishing and had just returned from a Canadian hunting trip with friends and his brother Chuck just prior to his death.

Mike was a natural salesman, and his outgoing personality will be missed by those who knew and loved him. As the old saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas and Mike's personality was the perfect fit! He always loved telling jokes and sharing stories of all the shenanigans he and his friends and cousins pulled off back in the day. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen of 28 years; his daughters, Hunter and Heather Hamilton (Chris); and grandson, Riley. Mike is also survived by his mother, Norma Jean of Monclova Township; brother, Chuck (Monique) Hoecherl; and sister, Annette Barnes (Jeff); nieces and nephews, Christian and Rachel (Hoecherl), Hannah, Jake and Joseph (Barnes); and brothers in law, Fred and Dick Bright. Mike was preceded in death by his father, and mentor, Carl. Mike will also be fondly remembered by many other family, relatives, friends, and hunting buddies.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held after the holidays and internment will be private.

Mike asked that any memorial contributions be made to St. John's Jesuit High School, Toledo, OH or the Pi Kappa Alpha Epsilon-Epsilon Foundation in Memphis, TN.
