Michael PLOTKA Obituary

PLOTKA Michael Michael Plotka, 63, of Independence, Kentucky, and a native of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on January 16th, 2011, at St . Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky. Michael was born in Toledo, Ohio to Rita and Daniel Plotka on January 16th, 1948. He attended Woodward High School in Toledo, and graduated from the University of Toledo. He was a staff sergeant in the Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Nation Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Michael worked for Applied Industrial Technologies for over 10 years. Michael is survived by his mother, Rita Plotka; wife, Sara; children, Amanda (Blake Cannon), Elysia (Steve) Chapman, and Jessica (Kevin) Dandino; grandson, Lucas Dandino, and sisters, Kathy Plotka Thomas and Marge (Dave) Krouse, and nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Daniel. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St. (419.726.1583). Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10 a.m in the funeral home with Father Thomas Leyland officiating. Interment at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the MDS foundation at http://www. mds-foundation.org, or donate blood or platelets in the name of Michael Plotka at the blood donation center of your choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.jasinfuneralhome.com The family of Michael wished to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and ICU nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky.

I just received word of Michael's passing, and would like all of you to know that he will be missed by me, and the rest of his Air Force brothers. I regret that we were unable to get together for one more reunion before he passed away, but please know that we will never forget him.
