I have just found out about this very sad passing of Minkle. We both started at Silverado in the middle of a school year and I have very fond memories of that time. I have included a photo, the science department volunteered to cook a Thanksgiving lunch for the faculty during an in service day. Also, she saved me when I was asked to teach Physics....she was so generous with all of her notes and advice. Although I have not spoken to her in years, I considered her a friend. She will be missed.

Minkel was my dear neighbor across the hall from me at OHHS. The printer was in her room, so I was always popping in on her. I was awestruck by her organization and lesson plans. Minkel truly found her calling as a teacher. She always brought a smile to my face every morning as she ate her oatmeal. I enjoyed our talks. I especially loved hearing about her love for her family and children. She had great stories about Las Vegas and Sylvania. She loved camping and was always preparing after school on Friday for her outdoor weekends. She drove me to meetings in Columbus. The two hour drive seemed like 20 minutes as we chatted nonstop. We also flew to Denver together to look at a model high school. Minkel was the ultimate professional and a beautiful woman, inside and out. I am heartbroken by her passing. My prayers go out to her children, parents, sister, and extended family. The world has lost an exceptional woman far too early. May her children and family soon find peace in their hearts. Minkel will be missed... xoxo

Wow, so saddened to hear this news. I have fond memories of Minkel as a camp counselor waaay back when at YMCA Storer Camps. She was always bubbly, approachable, friendly, and had a way of putting those around her at ease. I remember her essence well, as I was a shy little kid. My deepest condolences to her children, parents, and family. May you find comfort during this difficult time.

Mary Ann and Bill,
Minkel will be remembered by so many students who learned from her to be strong and compassionate just as she had learned from you two. We have such wonderful memories of her that lighten our thoughts and give hope and confidence that her children will mature into adults with strength and integrity. Our thoughts are with you as you work though this difficult time.
With love for you and Nikki,
Teri-John

Far too young - lost my mother-in-law at a similar age. Your passion for teaching (my son's physics teacher) was so much appreciated! Prayers for and blessings to your family and friends left behind and peace to you.

Bill and Mary Ann -
I am so very sorry for the sadness and the deep void in your life that Minkel's death has caused. I remember seeing pictures of her and Nickie that Bill proudly showed to me at UT whenever I asked about his children. I hope you can be comforted by wonderful memories. God bless.....

Hi. Minkel was my childhood bestie,we met when her family moved in when we were 4. She was more like a sister or better half. The memories just keep flooding back. Homemade cheerleading and poodle skirts( thanks Mary Ann,Mom) rolling down the big hill at Oma and Opas. Leaf houses and winter igloos. Numerous bdays, camp storer, wildwood. Way too many to list. You will be missed my friend and the world will be a bit sadder without you in it. Love you always. Shana Kwait
