Mollie Heidelberg Obituary

HEIDELBERG Mollie Meerkreebs Mollie Meerkreebs Heidelberg, age 91, passed away peacefully with family members at her side on Friday, March 20, 2009. Mollie was born in Toledo on August 24, 1917, to Wolf and Nellie Meerkreebs. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1935 and attended the University of Toledo. Mollie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Clarence (Cull) in 1995 and two sons, Herbert (Maryann) and Thomas. Her brother, Samuel, also preceded her in death. There are many words to describe Mollie - intelligent, kind, genuine, curious, but the word that best fit her was 'sweet.' She never had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was an avid reader, loved history and politics. She liked finding glass treasures, collecting books and records. She loved lively conversations on varied topics. She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Karen Murphy (Tom DuBose) and grandsons, Michael Heidelberg and Kevin Heidelberg; great-grandchildren, Courtney Murphy and Madison, Ashley, Justin and Justine Heidelberg. She is also survived by her younger brother, Jerry Meerkreebs who resides in Los Angeles, California. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the J. Jeffrey Fretti Funeral Home, 5045 W. Sylvania Ave. (at Corey Rd.) 419-843-1117 where services will be Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment Forrest Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be given to the Toledo-Lucas County Library.
