Nelson Saylor Obituary

SAYLOR Nelson J. Nelson J. Saylor, age 69, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 24, 2009, in his Sylvania Township home, with his faithful wife by his side. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Nelson was a keen sharp-shooter. He remained active in the Ohio National Guard and was a life-member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the Roseville Blue Lodge No. 522 F&AM, Roseville, MI where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. In his younger years, Nelson was an Exhibition Ball Room dancer and taught at Arthur Murray dance studio. He then worked as a Lake Erie Merchant Seaman. The next years of his career were spent in retail management for numerous toy stores, including: Spree, Arlans, and Kiddie City. His last employment was as a brakeman for the B & O Railroad. Nelson met and married his best friend and sweetheart, Linda (Cole) in 1966 and they celebrated every day of their 43 years together. They enjoyed the past 23 years in Englewood, Florida and recently returned to their roots in the Toledo area. Nelson will be sorely missed by his wife, Linda; daughter, Michelle Futch; sons, Frank and Nelson Saylor Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grand-child; sisters, Louise Wright and Jo Ann Waters and his faithful canine companion, Shiloh. Visitation will be at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 4-8 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m., Dr. Michael Jenkins officiating.
