Nick and my mom were close, so I've spent plenty of time with him as well. He's given me life advice and investment advice; we'd scan Wall Street Journal and Barron's..he had all the numbers and calculations in his head. Even a few weeks ago, he schooled me on some stocks zipping by on the ticker from his hospital bed.
Nick loved talking about his amazing kids Mark, Matt and Gina, as well as his grandkids. He was also proud of my siblings and I; kept up with what we were up to....
His passing takes a big chunk of goodness from our lives

Nick is my mom's older brother - they had a close relationship, so when we were kids, he came to our house for mom's Italian cooking, or we went to his for swimming. My dad truly enjoyed his company as well.--Dad didn't like to spend his time on just anybody; Nick was always welcome.
Knowing Nick during my adulthood has been beneficial due to his inspiring and intelligent views. He loved to talk about his amazing kids Mark, Matt and Gina, as well as his grandkids. He was also proud of me and my siblings Tom, Dan and Gail. He and I enjoyed scanning Barron's or the Wall Street Journal and compare notes on our investment portfolios - in his 90's he still watched the ticker and gave me sound investment advice.
He was no push over, though. He'd question my career decisions and investment decisions and, after I bought his beloved Camaro, only to see it totaled about 2 years later, I lied about it for 3 years because I was afraid to tell him....He kept wondering why I never drove it over...I ashamed.. I finally confessed....
Nick was a character who loved active people. He visited my older brother Tom while Tom was stationed in Europe. After everyone went to bed, Nick went out to the clubs---I don't know if this was a one-time thing, or every night, but it's a funny thought, nevertheless. My husband and I were lucky enough to take Nick out on our boat -he wanted to go to Kelly's Island, so off we went...to the bars....with my mom ....He was about 80 and still quite youthful.... My husband and I also took a dancing lesson with Nick and his friends...he was marvelous, Hal had some finesse. Me...not so much.
He is 13 years older than my mom, and was there for her during trying times. Towards the end of his life, mom and I would visit, take him food, and just talk--their young lives were not easy, but they overcame much to create secure lives for themselves and their families - I learned so much sitting there listening to their stories and views.

Lots of great memories with Nick over the years with Mark, my sister Shelly and the boys, Eric, Tony and Scott. He was always a true and very polite gentleman.
