Norbert W. Zakolski

ZAKOLSKI Norbert W. Norbert W. Zakolski, 83, of Shelby, MI and formerly of Toledo, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2009, at Ebeid Hospice. He was born on February 1, 1926, to Walter and Pauline "Peggy" Zakolski in Toledo, OH. He was a U.S. Navy Reserves Veteran. Norbert worked for Henry Ford Community College as a professor. Beginning in 1955, Norbert would enjoy his summers off traveling over the world. He also never lived in the same place for 12 months in a row, for numerous years. Norbert loved sailing and the shoreline views of Lake Michigan where he resided. He also enjoyed golfing and jazz clubs. Norbert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edwina "Adeline" and his parents. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lisa (Tammy Hinshaw) Zakolski; his "grand cats" and "grand dogs"; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends may visit at the W.K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., on Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. with Scripture services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
