Patricia "Patty" (Adams) Harpst

October 22, 1934 - October 20, 2023

Patricia "Patty" Harpst, age 88, peacefully passed away on October 20, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born October 22, 1934, to Edwin and Hortense Adams, in Toledo, Ohio.

Patricia attended Old Orchard Elementary School and Ottawa Hills High School, and later earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Indiana University. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Following graduation, Patricia taught at Glann Elementary School for several years. Patricia married her high school sweetheart and soul mate, Howard Harpst, on February 14, 1959. Howard and Patricia later had two boys, Steven and Brian, and moved from Ohio to Tucson in 1969. Both Patricia and Howard became very active in their new community.

Patricia had an outgoing personality and enjoyed life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was a passionate dog lover and over the years had many that she considered to be members of the family. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, wit, generosity, and love of friends and family.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents; her son, Brian; her husband, Howard; and niece, Patti Orbison. She is survived by her son, Steven; sister, Carolyn Perryman; sister-in-law, Helen Emmert (Dr. Gregor, Sr.); nephew, Dr. Gregor Emmert, Jr.; nieces, Lisa Perryman and Elizabeth Emmert (John Henzler); and grandnieces, Sarah, Kathryn, and Diana Henzler.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers for their kind support and care shown to Patricia during her illness.

A graveside service was held November 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson. Contributions may be made to: Brian Harpst Memorial Endowment Fund in Pima Community College Foundation. This fund provides scholarships in Respiratory Therapy. Pima Community College, 4905 E.
