Patricia Sutherland Obituary
Patricia L. Sutherland, 91, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2023.
Patricia was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 22, 1932 to Dolan and Anne Limber. In 1955, she married Charles Sutherland, who predeceased her in 1997.
Patricia was a long-time educator, having taught at Washington Local Schools with a career that spanned 42 years. She taught at the former Hopewell Elementary and ended her career at Jefferson Junior High School. She loved her time as a teacher.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her mother, Anne Griffin; her father, Dolan Limber; and her stepfather, Joseph Griffin. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandra) Sutherland, Judith (Charles) Freels and Elizabeth (Mike) Schermerhorn; and her stepbrothers, Joseph Griffin (Peggy McGurrin) and Donald Griffin, (Vicky Orlowski). She is also survived by six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Road,Toledo, Ohio. Graveside services on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 for immediate family only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Toledo Humane Society.

I am deeply saddened by the death of a lady who I considered a second mother in the 70´s. She was always so calm in demeanor and had a persistent smile that made everyone feel welcome. She lived a good life and there´s no doubt that she was welcomed home to be with the Lord and her husband. Thoughts and prayers going out to all family members. May she rest in eternal peace.
