Pauline C. Anstead

ANSTEAD Pauline C. Pauline C. Anstead, 86, of Elmore, Ohio, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in Franklin County, Ohio on November 14, 1921, a daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (Larason) Crowell. On October 25, 1943, she married Paul L. Anstead, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2004. Pauline was the secretary and a parish visitor at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Toledo, for 27 years, and was the editor of the Citadel newsletter at the church. She was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore, and the United Methodist Women. Pauline greatly enjoyed bird watching, with cardinals being her favorite. She was a caring person, and demonstrated this by visiting shut-ins, and those who were ill. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Lisa Spera, Atlanta, GA; niece, Shiela (Bruce) Hoekstra, Fairview, TX; 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Paul and her sister, Florence Finney. Friends are invited to call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Rick Stuhmer will officiate, and interment will be in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church following the interment service.
