Rafael Villagomez Obituary
Rafael Villagomez, 51, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on November 21, 2018 in his residence. He was born on January 1, 1967 in Mexico to parents Antero Villagomez and Guadalupe Vega who survive him. Rafael worked at Foundation Steel for 6 years and was a member of Ironworkers Local 55. He loved his job and all the people he worked with. He was a hardworking, loving husband who led his house in the Catholic faith. It was important for him to be an example to his children and raising them in the Catholic Faith was important.
While he only had an 8th grade education, he did not let that hold him back from his many great achievements. He provided his family with a new way of living, a new home and many opportunities. Rafael showed his family to believe in God and not let anything or anyone keep you from fulfilling your dreams.
Surviving are his loving wife Juana; his parents; children Vera Villagomez and Marcos Ramirez, Nellie Villagomez and Victor Moreno, Joseline, Lucas and Zaylin Villagomez. Grandchildren Daniela Villagomez, Azul Ramirez, Melanie & Natalie Moreno. He is also survived by siblings Luz, Nieves, Antonio, Cruz, Concepcion, Maria Elena, Manuel and Guadalupe Villagomez
Visitation will be held at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, on Monday, November 26th from 2 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 PM. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday with Prayers beginning at 10:15 a.m. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 in Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church. i was so saddened to learn of his departure today. i feel like even tho we never got to meet in person i knew him through the loving eyes of my coworkers Juana. VERO, and janelli. my prayers and thoughts will continue to go out to all of you as they did while he fought this terrible disease . Again my deepest sympathy.
