Randy Cox Obituary
Randy Lee Cox, age 66, of Napoleon, passed away on August 16, 2022, the day before his 67th birthday while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. He was born August 17, 1955, in Toledo, OH, to parents Alice (Darrow) and Lawrence Cox. On October 22, 1977, he married the love of his life, Sharon Lynn Cox. Sharon and Randy would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this year.
Randy, a voracious worker, started his career off at Chrysler and Interlakes Inc. He then worked at The Toledo Edison Company for 18 years as a millwright journeyman. While there, Randy was a member of IBEW Local 245. After leaving Edison, Randy went to work at General Motors in Defiance. He spent the past 25 years working at GM as a millwright journeyman and pattern maker. Randy was a proud member of The UAW Local 211.
Randy was an ordained minister and deeply devoted to God. Randy loved spending time with his family and traveling the world. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and was an avid sports fan â€" Go Rams!
He is survived by wife, Sharon Cox; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Hillary Cox; granddaughters, Cornelia and Rozlyn Cox; step mother, Joy Cox; family members, Kathy King, Terry Thompson, Mike Cox, Karen (Donald) Christian, Gary (Diana) Cox, Jim Cox, Charlotte Wilson, Kenny (Janet) Wilbur; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Cox; and family members, Robert Thompson, Marilyn and Roland Strayer.
A Celebration of Life in Randy's honor will take place at The UAW Local 211 Union Hall in Defiance on August 29th, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. with dinner to follow.
Memorial Contributions can be made to The Nature Conservancy and The National Park Foundation.
