Randy Whitman Obituary
8/28/1952 - 10/19/2025
Randy Whitman, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 19th, 2025. He will be missed by many family members and countless friends.
Randy was a 1970 graduate of St. Francis De Sales High School and attended The University of Toledo's School of Business and Lourde's College. His business career took him from Branch Manager in banking to Mortgage Loan Officer at Charter One Bank for many years.
His deep love for Our Lord, Jesus Christ, led him to form and lead the contemporary Christian music group, 'Jubilation.' His creative work in music and Evangelism helped him guide many others to a relationship with the Lord.
Randy also had a passion for politics. He ran for the office of the 9th Congressional District in 1994 and in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 34 devoted years; sons, Dusty Whitman and Dylan Whitman; son-in-law, Raouf Abrighach; granddaughters, Harmony Whitman, Hailo Whitman (Dustin Owens), Teelilly Abrighach, Saoirse Abrighach; and great-grandchildren, Eveangeline Rose and Malekai Randolph Owens; brothers, Fred Whitman (Sandy), David Whitman (Michelle) and Bill Whitman (Heather); sister-in-law, Debbie Schumacher; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Whitman; father, Dick Whitman; and stepmother, Carol (Byrne) Whitman. His passing was also preceded by the deaths of his daughter, Heather (Whitman) Abrighach; and his sister-in-law, Gloria "Jeanne" Horoszewski.
Visitation will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Thos. I Wisniewski Funeral Home, at 10:30 a.m., and burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or National Kidney Foundation.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kindness, dedication, and good care of Randy.
