Rita Rantanen Obituary

Rita Marie Rantanen

Rita Marie Rantanen passed away at the age of 75, on April 17, 2023, in Tucson, AZ. She was born in Toledo, OH, on May 31, 1947, to Aksel and Virginia Rantanen. She graduated from Central Catholic High School.

Rita worked at the Chrysler Jeep plant in Toledo as well as Ken's Flower Shop in Perrysburg. She spent the last 20 years of her life in Tucson, AZ, due to health reasons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ginny Bushroe; and son, Jon Wilson, who passed in 2014. Her wishes were to be laid to rest with her youngest child, Jon.

Rita is survived by her children, Michelle (Dan) Mosier of Roswell, NM and James (Kelly) Wilson of Perrysburg, OH. She is also survived by her brother, Edward (Karen) Rantanen; as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchild whom she cherished very deeply. She also cherished her many nieces and nephews.

She will be laid to rest at St. Rose Cemetery in Perrysburg, OH, on Saturday, December 16, at 2:00 p.m. Jon will be laid to rest on this day as well. There will be no ceremony but anyone is welcome to the gravesite for the burial.

Rita had a heart for giving to charitable organizations, especially those for children such as St. Jude. Any donation made in Rita's honor would be a wonderful tribute to her.
