Deacon Robert A. Beisser, a devout servant of God and beloved member of Christ the King Parish in Toledo, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2024, while on a journey with his cherished wife Cindy in Oslo, Norway. Born on May 25, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Julia Beisser, Deacon Robb was a man of deep faith and unwavering dedication to his community.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, Deacon Robb met Cindy in Milwaukee, and they exchanged vows on February 24, 1990, at Mary Queen of Heaven Parish in West Allis, WI, where they both sang in the choir. Revered for his humility and unassuming nature, he was ordained as a Deacon in the Diocese of Toledo on May 17, 1997. For over 27 years, Deacon Robb tirelessly served the parishioners of Christ the King Church, also extending his compassion and care as a Chaplain at ProMedica Hospice.
Deacon Robert Beisser's life was a testament to selfless service and a deep prayer life, touching the hearts of many through his work with the Young Adult Ministry, Sight & Hearing Challenged Support Group, and Christ the King's Homebound Ministry. He leaves behind his beloved wife Dr. Cynthia Beisser; his brothers Gary (Nancy) Beisser and David (Peggy) Beisser, both of South Carolina; his caring brother-in-law Daniel (Margaret) Smith of Colorado; and numerous friends within Christ the King Parish. Preceding him in death were his parents.
Visitation for Deacon Robb will commence at Christ the King Church on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 2:00 p.m., concluding at 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service. Continuing on Wednesday, there will be visitation in the church at 6:00 p.m. until the commencement of the Funeral Mass at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be conducted privately in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Toledo Humane Society.
Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd, Toledo, is honored to be assisting the Beisser family during this time. As we collectively gather in remembrance, let us celebrate the life and legacy of Deacon Robb, a dedicated soul who now peacefully rests in the arms of his Creator. I was fortunate to have the pleasure of working with Chaplain Robb at ProMedica Hospice for several years. He was truly a wonderful person, his kindness and compassion was evident in his interaction with our patients and their families, as well as his coworkers. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

At this time, I want to tell you that I am truly sorry for the lost of your family member and Rob Beisser was a true Deacon. It was on the Tuesday evenings once a month at Christ the King Catholic Church from 6:30-8 pm at the Bereavements meeting. We would sit and when Rob was there he would say who he had lost first and then it would go around the table for the next person. Rob will be sadly miss that who had known him, I know it won't be the same. He would laugh, and you could see he was crying at times. I was two seats away from him at the meetings. God Bless You All. He is with him loved ones. I will be thinking of all of you in this time of sorrow.
