Robert Juhasz Obituary
Robert Francis
Robert Francis Juhasz, age 61, of South Toledo lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo on July 16, 2016 with his family by his side.
He grew up in the Birmingham neighborhood of East Toledo and was proud of his Hungarian heritage. He attended St. Stephen's Catholic grade school and was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School.
Rob was inducted into the Cardinal Stritch High School Hall of Fame in December 2015 as a member of their 1972 championship football team. He also played varsity baseball, track and field. In 1998, he was inducted into the Birmingham Hall of Fame for football.
He worked for the City of Toledo for 35 years, retiring in 2011 from Engineering Services. He was an usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and volunteered every year for the church festivals and picnics. Rob was a member of the VFW Post# 4906, the Maumee Eagles and the Moose in Bradenton, FL. Rob and Maureen spent the past five winter seasons at their condo in Bradenton, FL. where they made many close friends.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret (Borie) Juhasz. He is survived by his wife, Maureen; daughter, Kerry (Brent Tary) Juhasz; brothers, Jack and Joseph Juhasz; nephews, Jade, Beau, Justin; nieces, Jackalyn and Nebra and great-nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Thursday, July 21, from 2-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 22, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2255 Central Grove, Toledo, OH 43614 at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care of Robert in his final days.

Joe and family, very sorry to hear about your family's loss. Played basketball with Robbie many years ago at St. Stephens open gym on Sunday nights, also recall the 1972 Stritch football team which Robbie played on that went to the Shoe Bowl. I will remember Robbie as a competitor and at the same time a really good guy. Will keep your family in prayer.

I was lucky enough to play with Robbie on the 72 Championship Football team. He was a helluva halfback and always had an encouraging word for me. Rest in peace Robbie, your time on earth was way to short.

While not a close friend, I graduated from Stritch with Robbie... although he was one of the better athletes in our class, he didn't have a big ego. He had a great sense of humour and a great smile. I was glad to see him at our 40th reunion a few years ago. I wish I'd got a decent photo of him at the reunion. I'm attaching a group photo of those from our class who made it that night, with Robbie front and center.
