Robert G. SOMMERS Sr.

SOMMERS Robert G. Sr. Robert G. Sommers, Sr., of Point Place, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the age of 69. Bob worked as a supervisor for New Mather Metals for 20 years before retiring. He enjoyed time spent with family and especially with his grandsons. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and step father; Vivian and Lorne Trainor, Sr.; father and step mother; Charles and Viola Sommers; brother, Larry Sommers, and brother in law, Lenny Villhouer. Left to cherish his memory is loving wife, Carol (Mitchell) Sommers; children, Dawn (Rick) Smith, Robert (Stephanie) Sommers, Jr., and Lorna Sommers; grandsons, Phillip and Joshua; sisters, Louann Villhouer, Mary Ann (Allen) McAvoy; sister-in-law, Naomi Sommers; brothers, Lorne (Nancy) Trainor, Jr., James Trainor, and many nieces and nephews as well as his lifelong friend; Pete Lucio. Visitation will begin in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., (419.726.1583) on Friday, May 25, 2012, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park.
