Robert Leon Tillotson

April 20, 1934 - July 29, 2021

Resident of Walnut Creek, CA. Bob was born in Toledo, Ohio, April 20, 1934 and passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Asa Tillotson; mother, Ruth Leon Tillotson; and sister, Norma Jean Cole. He was a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather.

Bob is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Gerry Amborski; daughter, Karen Tillotson Harrison; son-in-law, Michael Harrison; granddaughter, Elsie Harrison; as well as his niece, Judy; and nephews, Terry, Michael and Tim.

Bob graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's degree in Business and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. Professionally he had a long career with Owens-Illinois in the Libbey Glass Division taking him to New York, Seattle, San Francisco and also served in the Army Reserve Finance Corps.

He loved sailing and racing in the San Juan Islands, Seattle Sound and the San Francisco Bay. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid reader. Bob was a dedicated volunteer at John Muir Hospital for over 16 years (4000 hours) and developed many friendships.

A family service will be held. Contributions can be made to Hospice of the East Bay or John Muir Hospital Volunteer Program.
