Robert Ziems Obituary
Robert "Bob" David Ziems, 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023. Born in Toledo on February 21, 1938, to his late parents Clarence and Mae (Smith) Ziems, Bob grew up alongside his four siblings and studied at DeVilbiss High School for one year before attending Macomber and graduating in 1955. He met his future wife, Gretchen (Shepler) Ziems, at DeVilbiss and the couple married in 1958. The pair had three children who were their pride and joy. Gretchen passed away in 1997, and Bob later remarried Judy (Fisher) Ziems in 2003. They shared 16 years together until her passing in 2019.
During his career, Bob embarked into electrical sales at Westinghouse in Toledo, where he worked diligently until his retirement. In his spare time, Bob loved playing golf, handball, bowling, fishing, traveling, and sharing these experiences with his children. Bob's family was very close, and he loved and valued them dearly and always took an interest in their lives. He looked forward to their family dinners and regular visits. Bob was always a very generous man and a solid protector of his family. He had a funny, dry sense of humor and was supportive to no end. He will be extremely missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his children, Marc (Janet) Ziems, Ellen (Robert) Harbaugh, Jr.; grandchildren, Robert (Alyssa) III, Hillary, Nathan, Audrey (Robert), Noah; five great- grandchildren; Judy's children and grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Gretchen and Judy; infant daughter, Shelby Ziems; three brothers; and one sister.
All are welcome to visit at Olivet Lutheran Church, 5840 Monroe St., Sylvania, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. Bob's funeral will begin at 11 a.m. and will be immediately followed by a private family interment at Toledo Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of the donor's choice, in Bob's honor.

I worked with Bob at Westinghouse for 18 years. I never worked with a more fair and honest person. Met with him in 2020 or 2021 for a nice visit at his place. Deeply missed.
