EVERETT

Ronald

Ronald "Ron" Everett entered the Pathway of Souls on November 17, 2013. Ron was born on August 23, 1927, in Port Clinton, Ohio. The son of Morton and Josephine Everett. His sisters, Janet Colston and Lois Kloock, preceded him in death. Ron is survived by three sons and a daughter. Mark lives in Toledo, Craig in Wayne, Ohio, Paul in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Amy in Maumee. He has eight grandchildren. His wife of fifty two years, Elizabeth "Betty," preceded him on the Path Way of Souls in December 2003. She awaits him to join her in the place the Spirits have prepared for them.

Ron attended Bowling Green State University. He was a Certified Public Accountant employed by Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co in Toledo as a supervisor on their auditing staff. After leaving Peat in 1979, he was employed by Enterprise Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. as controller, until his retirement in 1990. Early in his retirement years he was a substitute teacher, teaching in grades K through 12 for several local schools, until he put away the chalk at the end of the school year in 2007. He loved the kids and enjoyed working with those of special needs.

Ron was Past President of the Maumee Exchange Club and served on St. Luke's Hospital Board of Trustees. After his tenure of service for St. Luke's, he was made Trustee Emeritus. For several years he was membership chairman for the Toledo Chapter of Duck's Unlimited.

Ron was a Native American and a tribal member of Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. He was of the Martin Clan with the spirit name, Talloak. He enjoyed going to his Tribal Pow Wow's at his reservation in Bayfield, Wisconsin. He was honored by his Tribal Council by allowing him to have eagle wings and feathers for spiritual purposes.

He loved boating, golf, hunting, fishing and singing. He was a member of the Perrysburg Boat Club and sang tenor with the Perrysburg Symphony Choral for several years and served on the Choral's Board of Directors. As a member of St. Joseph's Church in Maumee he served on the social, finance and religious education committees together with being a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maumee, Ohio on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Family and friends may join the family after Mass at the church, for a time of continued fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Ron can be remembered by contributions to St. Joseph's Church Campus Building Fund. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
