Ronald Wayton Obituary

WAYTON

Ronald J.

Ron Wayton, 52, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 28, 2012, after a long battle with heart problems. While originally from Toledo, he lived in the Cleveland-Akron area for the past 25 years. He was born on December 8, 1959, to Joseph and Mary (Koscho) Wayton. He graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School, Oregon, OH in 1977 and had an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Owens Technical College.

Ron's personality and social gifts made him a natural salesman whether he was selling cars, cameras, audio equipment or web design. Ron was a gifted guitarist and musician and was part of the local music scene for many years. His creativity and artistic talents were also evident in his photography. These talents and his enterprising spirit led him to set up a photography business and recording studio in his home helping some young artists launch their careers.

Ron was an audiophile and his eclectic tastes ranged from David Bowie to Dolly Parton and from Beethoven to Bach. He enjoyed the outdoors from camping to sitting on his front porch. He had an avid interest in politics and enjoyed debating issues. Though no one ever won an argument with Ron, his quick wit and great sense of humor allowed him to win friends over an argument rather than alienate them.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Joseph. He is survived by his mother, Mary; sisters, Lucille Wayton and Sharon (David) Ruetz; brother, David (Christine) Wayton; many nieces, and nephews; many great friends; and his faithful companion, "Tula."

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio. A Celebration of Ron's Life will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2-6 p.m. at Northside, 111 N. Main St., Akron, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lutheran Social Services, 2149 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43620 or to the family in care of Lucy Wayton, 2053 Cummings Ave., Toledo, OH 43609.

I am sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I met him at Owens in the fall of 1985. We became friends and a group of us guys hung out together at school for couple years. Ron introduced me to eating a Kit Kat bar with break time coffee, a combination I still enjoy because of him. He will be missed.

Deepest sympathy to Mrs. Wayton and Ronny's family. Such a great high school friend, and so sorry our paths got separated only to be reunited by the news of his death. He was a beautiful soul and will be playing heavenly music with the angels.

Dear Mrs Wayton and family, I am so very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. I remember him fondly as he and my own brother would hang out with the rest of the gang in our basement, listening to music. May God bless and comfort you in this time.

Ron was a great guy, we always looked forward to him stopping by to pay his rent and chat. We were very sad to hear of his passing. He brightened our days, and he will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

I had the fortunate pleasure of reconnecting with Ron after twenty years of going our separate ways. Growing up on Linmore and Selkirk Streets together, we became best friends at an early age. When we got back together, it was as if those years of absence never existed. I will miss him dearly. My sympathies go out to Mrs. Wayton and the rest of the family. Ron was an exceptional person who will be sorely missed by all who know him.

Ron was a true friend to me and my family. It cuts me deep to realize he is gone, and I wish it were not so in the worst way. My deepest sympathies to all in the family, this was a man truly worth knowing, and will always be missed.
