Roy T. "Tom" SILER Sr.

SILER Roy T. "Tom" Sr. Tom lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in his home in Grand Island, FL on June 7th, 2011, surrounded by his present wife, June and his children. Tom was born to Lewis and Beulah Siler on October 27, 1929 in the city of Dyllis, TN. He joined the Army at 16 and was stationed in Japan as an M.P. A year after finishing his tour he married his grade school sweetheart, Barbara Henry in 1950 and she is the mother of his children. Tom was a brick mason by trade and enjoyed hunting, (co-owning a cabin in the U.P.) and snowmobiling. In 1983 the world got in the way and Tom moved to Florida where in 1998 he met his present wife, June Schmidt and they were maried in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wanda Surdasky and brother-in-law, Clarance Surdasky. Tom is survived by his wife, June Siler; son, Roy T. Siler Jr. (Diane); daughters, Vickie Henninger (Rich), Cynthia Siler (Chuck), Kimberly Baranek (Jay); grand-children, Michael T. Siler (Sarah) and Barbara (Bobbi) Baranek; greatgrandchildren, Hayden and Ava Siler; first wife, Barbara Siler, and many other relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 17th, at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 4930 Flanders Rd., Toledo, Ohio (at Laskey Rd.). Guests may gather at 11:00 a.m. to greet the family with services to begin at 11:30 a.m. and fellowship to follow in the church.
