Ruby
"Dear Friends and Relatives,
It's been a great journey. I was born in Toledo and graduated from Waite High School in 1954. I enjoyed working at Willys Overland (Jeep) and later the Toledo Public Schools, where I worked as a secretary.
During this time, I married William "Bill" Murray and we had three children, who survive me. They are Kathleen Barber (Paul), William D. Murray V (Connie), and Edmund Murray (Gwendolyn). I am also very blessed with my grandchildren, and they were loved by myself and their grandfather. They include, Adam, Brent, and Lukas Barber (Angela), Brandy Secory (Kyle), William Allen, Jason, and Katherine Rose Murray and Edmund Murray. I was also blessed with 3 great-grandsons, Avery, Reese, and Carson. My husband Bill preceded me in death. Additionally, I have a brother, Robert Preston, who survives me. My parents, who are deceased, were Alice and Edmund Preston.
In my later years I kept myself busy volunteering, where I could serve others."
The family will welcome friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd., on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where services will be held at 1 p.m. by Pastor Glenn Lewis of Westgate Chapel. Ruby will be laid to rest in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Ruby requested that any memorials be directed to her favorite charity, Diabetes Youth Services: dys4kids.org. Kathleen,Bill & Eddie,
So sorry for the passing of your Mom. She was a very caring and kind lady. As us kids going up on Ogden ave back in the 60's & 70's
We weren't just lucky to have all these kids to hang with. We also had all of the Parents that made it a special and safe place to grow up. Your Mom always was nice to me and made me feel cared about.
Even throu my adult life when Mrs.Murray would see me she always made time to talk and ask me how I've been ( with a smile on her face- always caring)
Mrs Murray was known of walking her little dog up&down the street and around the neighborhood - May she be join with their old Dog Star to continue on her walks.

I too, was a secretary with Toledo Schools and worked with Ruby. We were members of The "South Secretaries breakfast club" and enjoyed many hours together. She was always cheerful with a keen sense of humor. May your memories of her always be happy ones.

Kathleen, Bill and Eddie, I want you to know how very much your Mom meant to the Lucas family next door. It was a joy growing up with a neighbor as kind and loving as Ruby. She will be missed. She is in our prayers.

We are very sorry for your loss. Ruby was a very special lady. She was always warm and welcoming to us. My husband, Bill and his siblings, have fond memories of both Ruby and Bill as their neightbors. We were all fortunate to have known Ruby.

I remember Ruby as the secretary at Newbury where my children attended school and then as a neighbor when I moved onto Ogden Avenue. I enjoyed talking with her whenever she would walk her dog past my house. Prays and thoughts go out to your family.
