Ruth Lump Obituary
September 11, 1941 - September 4, 2023
Ruth A. Lump, 81, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away, Monday, September 4, 2023, in The Toledo Hospital. Ruth was born on September 11, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of John D. and Mary T. (Kowalski) Oliver. Ruth was a graduate from Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, then earned a degree in business after high school. She worked at various businesses, including O.I. Ruth met and fell in love with her husband, David Lump, they married in 1963 and spent a great life together for 58 ½ years, with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2022. In the mid 80's, Ruth earned her nursing degree from the Mercy School of Nursing. She retired as the Director of Nursing from the Eye Institute of Northwest Ohio. Dave and Ruth were active members of Resurrection Polish National Church in Temperance, Michigan, both Elk and Moose Clubs in Murrells Inlet, SC, and Riverview Yacht Club. She also enjoyed boating with Dave and friends, traveling the world and gardening.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Sheryl Nickels, Kenneth (Sally) Lump and Stephen (Betsy) Lump; grandchildren, Josh, Kenny (Erin), Mandi Nickels, Grace Lump, Brendan Lump and Payton Fuller; brother, John Oliver and sister, Joyce Thornton. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Nickels.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, Michigan. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Resurrection Polish National Church, 1835 W. Temperance Road, Temperance, Michigan, with burial following at Mt. Carmel-Resurrection Cemetery, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Resurrection PNCC, at the above address, or the charity of the donor's choice.
