Ruthie Smithhisler Obituary
Ruthie Kay Smithhisler, age 66, of Sylvania, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024 peacefully in her sleep. Ruthie was born November 24, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Jeanne (Achinger) Smolenski.
Ruth was a dog groomer, worked at Best Products, and then later in her career, she was involved with home heath care, became a personal family assistant, and a housekeeper. She had many loyal customers over the years. One family in particular, the Page's, Ruth was an extended part of their family. She also took care of the Riger's and numerous other families. She enjoyed dogs, and had many over her lifetime.
Survivors include her brother, Errol Tracy (Peggy) Smolenski; brother-in-law, Ron Layman (Sandy his fiancé) and his son, Bryan S. Layman; nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Brogan, Anthony, Jonathan, Noelle, and Christian; extended family include her brother Steve's son, Ian Smolenski, and a host of loving friends.
