Sarah Elizabeth Denton
On a warm summer evening back in 1988, a beautiful baby girl was born; the youngest of 5 siblings, just 3 minutes younger than her twin sister. Etched upon her tiny heart was the motto, "MakingMyDent" which she lived out each day of her short, precious life. She believed in that so much she had it printed upon her baby, Mistah Biggz, a 2011 Jeep which she accessorized in pink and bling! On Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - just 16 days after celebrating her 37th birthday - Jesus reached down and gently called our Sarah home. Sarah Elizabeth Dent, accomplished more in those short 37 years than most conquer in their entire lifetime. She made "MakingMyDent" her daily ministry! She would drop anything to help mend a broken heart or aid someone in a difficult situation. She would encourage those in need, and make everyone feel special by jumping in and helping with their life celebrations. She loved doing dance in her younger days, played softball, enjoyed 7 years in Girl Scouts, was active in Epiphany Lutheran's youth group, loved organizing fundraisers for charities, made her Dent at Rogers High School for 4 years, then left for Africa to touch the lives of young children/babies in an orphanage in Tanzania. She traveled on a total of 4 separate mission trips over the years. She then decided to be a Direct Support Provider for Sunshine Communities for 15+ years, serving those at the Bancroft House, where she fell in love with what she called 'her boys' and sweet friend, Judy. She then moved on to Woodlane Residential in Wood County extending her impact. Sarah's next adventure was Toledo Hospital Promedica Labs, and the Surgery Center at Regency Park, which became her 2nd family. She was known for making clients' lives brighter and calmer, especially for those facing surgery that day - exhibiting kindness to suppress all the fear and anxiety. Once again, "Making Her Dent" in this world. Sarah loved pink, sparkling bling, shark week, sunflowers, jeeps, traveling, anything pickles, and her fur babies, Jonsie & Sapphire.
Sarah is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Edward "Stubby" and Carolyn Hullstrung and Charles and Iona Komen, grandfathers, George Korn and Roger Hullstrung; uncles, Eddie Taylor and Todd Wood; cousin, Christopher Ryan; and precious niece and nephews, Luke, Lily, and Lance Shoemaker. Surviving are Sarah's parents, Daniel and Kimberly Dent; siblings, Kristy (Roy) Shoemaker, DJ and (Jen Tremblay) Dent, Amanda (Michael) Nutt; and twin sister, Theresa (John) VanCalster. Sweet nieces and nephews, Shannon and Anthony, Roy II and Julie, Mylah, Macy, Wyatt, Caleb, Jack, Connor, Jackson, Brooklynn, Carter, and Hudson. Grandmothers, Donna Korn and Rita Hullstrung and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins too lengthy to list but still special in her heart. Thanks be to God for our large loving family!!
