Shirley Frybarger Obituary
Shirley Frybarger, age 86, passed away on January 1, 2024. The oldest of three children, she was born on January 4, 1937 to Wayne and Laura (Hoy) Kelley in Toledo, OH. She married her husband, Gerald, on February 10, 1956. He preceded her in death in 2018. He was the love of her life and they had 62 years, and five children, together.
Shirley worked at Toledo Public Schools for 32 years. She started as a Parent Partner in 1970 and retired in 2002 as a Nurse's Assistant at Bowsher.
Shirley treasured spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed many years at their cottage on Pelee Island, Canada and game nights with family.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gale Sr. (Ann), Rick (Mary), Chris (Lillie); daughter, Cindy (James) Spratt; grandchildren, Gale Jr., Steve (Jennifer), Adam (Beth), Kristy (Ron) DePew, Jade (Justin) Peters, Joshua (Tamra), Courtney (Tyler) Cook, Nathan, and Austin Spratt. She was also blessed with an abundance of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Bend Church, 11275 Eckel Junction Rd, Perrysburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
